Why are my subs so quiet?

I just hooked up 2 12-inch Kenwood KFC-W3012 subwoofers powered by a Kenwood KAC-7205 amplifier but the subs are not loud at all (they are quieter than my door speakers). How do I fix this/ what are some things I could have done wrong?
