If i have a 1000w peak amp and a 1000w peak sub, both with 500w rms, this should be an ideal setup correct?

I have a kenwood KAC-7205 amp, and a Pyle PLWCH10D sub. both of these are 500w rms at 4 ohms, i think this means they should fit perfect with each other correct? I am new to this and just want to make sure i am not gonna screw up my system.
