Amp for two 10" kicker cvt (2010 model)?

I just bought an underseat dual 10" subwoofer box for my 07 f150 lariat that houses two kicker cvt subs that are rated at 800watts RMS and 1600 peak for the pair. Currently I am running a kenwood kac-7205 amp (2 channel I think)... The subs pound good but I was told if I got a mono amp there would be a big difference in bass? Is this true? And if so what kind should I get?
